With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Apolonia Frias, who peacefully departed this world on January 28th, 2025, in Mesquite, Texas, just days shy of her 99th birthday. Apolonia was born on February 9th, 1926, in the picturesque town of Santa Barbara De Tutuaca, Chihuahua, and later found her home in Mesquite, Texas, where she spent her remaining years surrounded by family and love.
Apolonia's life was a testament to resilience, devotion, and warmth. As the matriarch of a large family, she was a beacon of strength and unity, nourishing multiple generations with her wisdom and love. She is survived by her sons Hector, Onorio, Sergio, and Victor; her daughters Armida, Carolina, Roselia, Lucila, Blanca, Bertha, and Estela, as well as her extensive legacy of 43 grandchildren, 90 great-grandchildren, and 32 great-great-grandchildren. Each carries forward her spirit and teachings in their own lives.
Preceding her in death is her beloved son, Nestor, whom she has now rejoined. Apolonia's enduring love and guidance will continue to be felt in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
A memorial service to celebrate Apolonia's remarkable life will be held at Pilar Funeral Home in Garland, TX, on Sunday, February 16th, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm. This gathering will be an opportunity for family and friends to come together, share cherished memories, and honor a life well-lived.
