Armando Martinez Barrientos Obituary

Armando Jr. Martinez Barrientos was born on October 4, 1995 in Fort Worth, Texas. He entered into rest on September 9, 2022 in Desoto, Texas.

Armando Jr. is survived by his mother Delia; father Armando; brothers Steven, Angel Geovani, Juan Sebastian & Leonardo Achilles; sister Llomaira.

His nickname was Torinillin (Pronounced: Tor-nee-yih-n), given to him by his cousins, Anabel and Junior Resendiz, at an early age due to his slender physique. I always thought it was due to how crazy and loose he was. Like the time when he foolishly ran two blocks towards the school to avoid our mother’s slipper. As a result, I would jokingly call him “loose screw.”

He was Born on October 4th, 1995 in Fort Worth Texas, aka Foritos. The first-born son of Delia Barrientos and Armando Martinez. He was a mamma’s boy. He showered his mother in love and looked for her attention in many ways. She reciprocated her son’s love; this was her joyful little boy that not always made the best choices when choosing his methods to seek for that attention. The same little boy that brought home a spiral notebook from his kindergarten teacher with a new complaint inside waiting for her to read and return signed. Unknowingly to everyone then, that little boy was struggling with ADHD and Dyslexia and did not get the necessary support to excel academically. Frustrated at his failure, he dropped out of high school his freshman year. This little boy grew into a young man, but that little boy was still inside, scared of life. This fear inside consumed him, and many times he gave in to that fear, this was his downfall.

Unfortunately, that resulted in him being, once again, misunderstood by many as a troubled young man with issues. He found acceptance amongst friends that taught him bad habits. That joyful little boy learned to put up a tough-boy appearance. He rebelled against our mother’s rules, refusing to return to school he was taken in by our cousin Anabel. She took him in as another son, she showed him love and understanding, becoming another mother to him. “I will never forget his words” said Anabel, “he once told me “I would not trade my mom for nothin’, but I love you like another mom””. He lived the remaining of his teen years with her, helping her around the house was his way to show her he appreciated and loved her.

He was a persistent person, if he wanted something he was the kind of person that would ask himself “How can I get this?.” Like the time he mowed four of his neighbor’s lawns to buy himself the nice pair of shoes he wanted and mowed a few more to take a girl out on a date. This is the type of person Armando was, our Junior would go out of his way to show how much he cared about us. His joyful smile made his eyes sparkle in a special way and his laughter filled any room he walked into.

That little boy, with sparkly eyes and a noble heart, got lost in a dark world and was searching for a way back home. Tornillin found his way back home to mom, more than once, but this time it was different. We got a glimpse of that little boy once again, untainted by this world. Yet, that little boy had grown into a man. Little did we know we were sharing his last days, being a part of what he loved, spending time with family and friends. Above all, Junior was enjoying mom’s attention. Alas, he parted this world and went to our home in heaven, he will no longer know despair, he will no longer fear, he will no longer wander lost. “A million times we’ve missed you, a million times we’ve cried. If love could have saved you, you never would have died. Things we feel most deeply, Are the hardest things to say. Our dearest one, we have loved you, In a very special way.” – poem by anonymous writer.
