It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Arvo Rudolph Mallay, who departed this life on April 30, 2025, in Iowa Park, Texas, at the age of 80. Born on June 30, 1944, in Port Morant, Guyana, Arvo lived a life marked by faith, service, and devotion to his family.
Arvo was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over four decades, Josephine Mallay; grandson Richard Davis; brothers Charles Mallay and Allan Edward; and sisters Eileen Balgobin, Ruth Mallay, Rohani Khadim, and Evadney Roome.
He is survived by his loving children: Jimmy Davis, Adelene Rowena Mallay, Rudy Arvo Mallay, and Nigel Davis. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Andrew Mallay, Joshua Plunb, Rehana Yakub, Dylan Mallay, and Nathan Davis; and his great-granddaughter, Josephine Davis.
Arvo is also survived by his siblings: Stanley Mallay, Rowena Kloochung, and Amber Tulletth.
Raised in a strong Christian home, Arvo carried those values throughout his life and made it a priority to instill them in his children. He was a firm believer in the sanctity of marriage and the importance of family. His enduring marriage to Josephine was a testament to his commitment and love.
Professionally, Arvo dedicated most of his career to public service as a Public Health Inspector in Guyana. After retiring from that role, he emigrated to the United States in 1993, where he spent the remainder of his life close to his children and grandchildren.
Arvo will be remembered for his unwavering faith, steadfast work ethic, and the deep love he held for his family. His legacy will live on in the hearts and lives of those he touched.
