Charles Washington

Charles Kennyatta Washington Sr., age 55, of Dallas, TX, transitioned on December 15, 2025. Charles was the son of the late Vernon Simmons and the late Mayfield Washington Simmons.

Charles is survived by his wife, Kilka Washington; three daughters, Crashane Sams, Mayfield Washington, and Kenya Washington; three sons, Dashaun Washington, Charles Washington Jr., and Jamaal Duret; two sons-in-law, Keandre Sams and Calvin Green; and four grandchildren, Kye Sams, Kemi Sams, Cori Sams, and Maylani Green.

Charles was preceded in death by his sister, Zina Marie Cooper.

He leaves behind his three brothers, Ronald Washington, William Cooper, and Frederick Simmons; three sisters, Stacey Watson, Nicole Airhart, and Tamiko Simmons; two brothers-in-law, Kevin Watson and Bryce Airhart; three sisters-in-law, Millie Washington, Monica Cooper, and Guorianna Simmons; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Charles was born in New Orleans, LA. He attended McDonough 10 Elementary School, Live Oak Middle School, and Walter L. Cohen Sr. High School. Charles met his wife, Kilka, at the age of 15, and though life took them in separate directions, they were reunited ten years later and were inseparable since. Charles and Kilka moved to Dallas, TX, where they married in 2000 and continued to raise their children.

Charles spent a number of years working in the tile, granite, and flooring industry, but his love and passion for dogs led him to pursue his dream of breeding dogs, concentrating on exotic bullies under the name “New Level Bullies.”

Charles, though you have departed from those who love you, the knowledge, wisdom, laughter, and all of the wonderful memories that you left behind will live forever in our hearts.
