It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jester Wayne Jefferson, who left us peacefully on August 8, 2025, at the age of 80. Jester was born on February 5, 1945, in the quiet, close-knit community of Bethel, Oklahoma. Throughout his life, he touched many with his kindness, humor, and dedication, leaving a lasting impact that will be remembered by all who knew him.
Jester proudly served his country through military service as a national guard, demonstrating his unwavering commitment and patriotism. Following his service, he channeled his skills and passion into a long career as a typesetter for the Dallas Independent School District (DISD). There, he worked diligently to ensure that words were not only beautifully presented but also accessible and understandable to all.
Jester is survived by his loving sisters Kathleen, Kisa, and Leila; his stepdaughter Cassandra; his cherished grandchildren, Jacob, Clarissa, and Matthew; and his great-grandchild, Marco Sebastian, who brought him immeasurable joy. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gloria, his brother Jeffley, his sister Diana, his grandson Cameron Vargas, and his beloved parents Johnnie and Rena.
To all who knew Jester, his absence leaves a deep void. His life was a testament to the values of love, service, and integrity.
Jester Wayne Jefferson will forever be in our hearts. May he rest in peace.
