Jose Luz Hernandez Alvarado

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Jose Luz Hernandez Alvarado, who left this world on February 6th, 2025, at the age of 76. Jose was born on May 16th, 1948, and lived a life filled with love, compassion, and dedication to his family and community.

Jose is survived by his devoted wife, Lucina, who stood by his side through every high and low. Together, they built a family that brought immense joy and pride into their lives. He leaves behind a loving legacy in his nine children: sons Roberto, Emeterio, Jose Luis, and Jorge; and daughters Silvia, Olga, Elizabeth, Rosy, and Erica. His wisdom and warmth will also be cherished by his brothers Francisco and Cristino, and his sisters Zenaida, Ciria, and Leucalia.

As a testament to the love and strength he imparted, Jose’s legacy continues through his 26 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, each carrying a piece of his spirit forward into the future.

A viewing and visitation will be held at Pilar Funeral Home in Garland, Texas, on Wednesday, February 12th, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will take place at 6:00 pm. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of a life well-lived.

His final resting place will be Cementerio de San Juan Bautista in Cedral, San Luis Potosi, Mexico.
