It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Elena Castruita Rios, who departed this world on March 13, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on February 10, 1939, Maria Elena lived a life full of love, dedication, and warmth that touched everyone she encountered.

Maria Elena was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her four devoted sons, Alfredo, Heiberto, Abelardo, and Antonio, who meant everything to her. She also leaves behind her dear brother, Ricardo, and sister, Isidra. Her legacy continues through her 13 cherished grandchildren and 6 precious great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

Maria Elena had a vibrant spirit that manifested in her love for pink and lilac colors, and she found immense joy in the beauty of flowers, especially roses and gardenias.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the viewing and visitation, which will be held at Pilar Funeral Home in Garland, TX, on Friday, March 14, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Rosary service will be held at 6:00 pm.

A funeral service celebrating Maria Elena's life will take place at Pilar Funeral Home on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 10:00 am. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Royse City Cemetery in Royse City, TX, with interment immediately following.

Maria Elena Castruita Rios leaves behind a legacy of love and beauty and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
