It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nora Cruz, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and educator, who left us peacefully on Monday, March 3rd, 2025, in Plano, Texas. Born on a sunny Saturday, September 8th, 1951, in Manhattan, New York, Nora lived a life full of love, dedication, and service.
Nora was a proud alumna of Southern Methodist University, where she earned her Master's Degree, laying the foundation for a lifelong career in education. For over 50 years, she touched countless lives as a dedicated teacher, inspiring generations of students with her passion for learning and her gentle guidance.
Nora's legacy is carried on by her loving family, including her daughter Norali, her son Michael, cherished grandchild Stacey, and adored great-grandchildren Isabella and Gabriella. She is also survived by her devoted brother, Antonio. Nora was preceded in death by her brother, Angel Carlos, whom she missed dearly.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Nora's life at the Pilar Funeral Home in Garland, TX. A viewing and visitation will be held on Saturday, March 15th, 2025, from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm. A funeral service will follow on the same day at 6:30 pm, also at Pilar Funeral Home.
Nora will be remembered for her unwavering commitment to her family, her students, and her community. Her warmth, wisdom, and kindness left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Arrangements are provided by Pilar Funeral Home.
