Ofelia Marrufo Holguin Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ofelia Marrufo Holguin, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, who left this world on Wednesday, January 21st, 2026, at the age of 84. Ofelia was a resident of Princeton, Texas, and was born on January 3rd, 1942, in the picturesque town of Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua, Mexico.

Ofelia lived a life full of love and joyful moments, devoted to her family and passions. She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Cecilia, who carries forward the legacy of her mother's nurturing spirit. She is also survived by her beloved grandson, David, whom she raised as her own son and who held a deeply special place in her heart. Ofelia's love extended to her 9 grandchildren, who fondly remember her storytelling and warmth, as well as her 10 great-grandchildren, each of whom she adored. Recently, Ofelia welcomed her first great-great-grandchild, a new life blessed by generations of her family's embrace.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jose, sons David, Jorge, and Julian, to whom she dedicated much of her life. Though she has now joined them in peace, her heart remained with them every day. Her cherished grandson, Jesus, also preceded her in death and holds a special place in her heart.

Ofelia’s gentle and nurturing spirit was felt beyond her family, through her work in childcare where she touched countless lives, providing comfort and nourishment to the young ones she cared for. Her skills and passion for cooking made her a beloved figure to all who had the pleasure of tasting her meals.

A woman of simple joys, Ofelia had a particular fondness for the color black, which she often wore with elegance and grace. Her greatest passion, however, was cooking, an interest she pursued not only as a hobby but as a way of bringing joy and love to those around her. Ofelia’s kitchen was a realm of culinary delights, filled with the fragrant aroma of her Mexican recipes, a testament to her heritage and love.

Her legacy is one of resilience, devotion, and love. Ofelia Marrufo Holguin will be remembered as a beacon of compassion and strength, whose love for her family and community radiated from every action and every word.

As we gather to remember Ofelia, we honor a legacy filled with warmth, kindness, and an unyielding love for family. May she rest in eternal peace, embraced by those she dearly missed.

A memorial service to celebrate Ofelia’s life will be held in Princeton, Texas, where her spirit shall forever remain amongst those she cherished.
