Salvador Medalla, Jr. Obituary
It is with profound sadness, yet with Christian hope in the Resurrection, that we announce the passing of Salvador Arañas Medalla Jr., a beloved father, brother, uncle, cherished friend, engineer, and faithful member of his community. Salvador was called home to the Lord on February 4, 2026, in Garland, Texas, at the age of 83.
Salvador was born on March 13, 1942, in Cebu, Philippines, where he was raised with strong values of faith, family, and perseverance. He later earned a university degree in engineering, a profession through which he expressed his God-given talents with humility and dedication. It was also in Cebu where he met his beloved wife, with whom he shared a life grounded in love and commitment.
A devoted father, Salvador is survived by his loving sons, Michael, Myron, and Mark; seven grandchildren; and his sister. He embraced his vocation as a father with quiet strength, patience, and selfless love, guiding his family through example, hard work, and faith. His legacy lives on through his children and grandchildren, whom he loved deeply and unconditionally.
Those who knew Salvador remember him for his gentle spirit, strong work ethic, and understated sense of humor. He lived a life of integrity and service, reflecting values rooted in faith, dedication, and love of family. His life stands as a testament to perseverance and fidelity to those he was entrusted to love.
Salvador Arañas Medalla Jr. leaves behind a legacy of a life well lived. Though he will be dearly missed, we take comfort in the promise of eternal life and the hope that he now rests in the peace of Christ.
Salvador will be interred at Holy Cross Cemetery & Mortuary in Culver City, California, where he will be laid to rest alongside his beloved wife, Fe Requieron Medalla, who preceded him in death on December 8, 2016.
