God welcomed another angel home on Saturday, August 9, 2025, as Sonia Azucena Borjas Colado, 57, passed away peacefully surrounded by her beloved children in Plano, Texas.

Even when the sun sets, it leaves its mark, it leaves its color. It has warmed the earth and given life over and over again, brightening the days of generations, nurturing life, and shining its light across the world. Now, heaven shines brighter with Azucena’s light.

Azucena was born on December 31, 1967, in Choluteca, Honduras. Guided by her deep Christian faith, she lived a life devoted to love, kindness, and service to others. She had a gift for making those around her feel seen and cherished, and her warmth extended far beyond her family circle. She found joy in the simple, beautiful things- crocheting intricate pieces with her hands, spending time with her beloved dogs, and sharing laughter and stories with those she loved. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she inspired those around her to live with grace and compassion.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Lisandro Omar Borjas; her children, Swamy Hanslik Borjas, Omar Borjas, Carmen Colado, and Kristal Borjas Colado; her grandchildren, Madison, Sofia, and Taylor; her brother, Francisco; and her sisters, Dalila, Elsa, Norma, Angela, and Rosa.

Services will be held on Monday, August 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Pilar Funeral Home in Garland, Texas. Visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by burial at 3:00 p.m. at Garland Memorial Park
